What to include in your first email

Your company name and country of registration
Your role and the entity you represent
Whether you are a buyer or a producer (or both)
Which commodity sector or sectors are relevant
Indicative volume and frequency (one-shot vs. recurring)
Indicative destination port (if buyer-side)
Indicative origin (if producer-side)
Whether you have a confirmed mandate or are exploring

We routinely respond to international counterparty inquiries outside Toronto business hours when commercial timing requires it.

A note on what not to send

Three things we cannot help with via email.

Speculative inquiries without a mandate. "Looking for the cheapest sulphur" without a defined buyer entity, destination port, payment terms, or quantity is not actionable. Please come with a mandate.
Requests for unverified counterparty identities. Confidential information is shared only when authorized, necessary, and covered by appropriate agreements. Submitting an inquiry does not create a right to another party's identity.
Pre-payment or fee requests. GMC Trading Group does not charge inquiry fees, KYC fees, or "due diligence" fees through this website. Any commercial fee or payment instruction must appear in a written agreement verified directly with GMC. Treat unsolicited advance-payment requests as suspected fraud.
